The Digital Oilfield begins at the wellhead. No matter how sophisticated your analytics platform, it can only be as good as the data that feeds it — and that data must be acquired reliably, continuously, and securely from assets that are often remote, geographically dispersed, and operating in extreme conditions.
Envision — Optima Edge — is the device that makes that connection. It sits at the wellsite, interfaces directly with your PLCs and SCADA systems via Modbus-RTU, acquires data from sensors and controllers, and transmits it to the Optima platform in real time — over whatever connectivity is available at that location.
More than a data gateway, Envision also performs edge computation — processing and filtering data locally before transmission, enabling real-time control commands to flow back from Optima to the field asset. This bidirectional, edge-to-cloud architecture is what enables Optima's closed-loop control capability: the ability to adjust setpoints, change frequencies, and start or stop equipment remotely from within the platform.

Real-Time Data Acquisition
Connects to PLCs and SCADA systems via RS485/Modbus-RTU. Acquires analog inputs, digital I/O, and high-frequency sensor data. Configurable data rates from 9,600 bps to 12 Mbps — adaptable to the precision requirements of each asset type.
Flexible Data Transmission
Transmits data to the Optima platform via the best available connection — Ethernet (100–1000 Mbps), WiFi, GSM Cellular, Satellite, LoRaWAN (long-range low-power), or Point-to-Point. Seamlessly switches between connection types based on availability.
Edge Computation
Processes, filters, and analyses data locally at the device before transmission — reducing bandwidth consumption, enabling faster alarm response, and supporting operation in low-connectivity environments.
Device & Asset Management
Remote configuration and provisioning via web browser — no site visit required for device setup or parameter changes. Alarm configuration and threshold management directly on the device.
Closed-Loop Control
Bidirectional communication enables Optima to send control commands to field assets: change VSD frequency, modify setpoints, start or stop pumps — securely, remotely, from the Optima platform interface.
Cloud or Private Network
Envision connects to Optima deployed on your preferred cloud provider or on a private network — with full configurable security and data residency options. Also connectable to third-party platforms via OPC or custom protocol.
